In the entrance exam for the master’s program of the Department of Advanced Social and International Studies (hereafter DASIS) for the 2026 academic year (held in this academic year), DASIS will require applicants to submit one of the following score sheets of English language tests.
Please consider the number of days it will take to receive the results of each examination.- Score sheets of either TOEFL iBT (including TOEFL iBT Home Edition) or IELTS Academic Module taken within two years from the time of application.
- For the TOEFL iBT, submit a copy of the Test Taker Score Report sent to you by ETS (Education Testing Service) or a printout of the Test Taker Score Report that can be downloaded from your ETS account. Direct submissions from ETS are not acceptable. TOEFL ITP test scores will not be accepted. For the TOEFL iBT Score Report, only the Test Date Score will be used as the application score; the My Best
Score will not be used. - For IELTS, a copy of the Test Report Form sent to the applicant by the governing body (e.g., Eiken Foundation of Japan) must be submitted. Direct submission by the governing body is not acceptable. Scores from the General Training Module, IELTS Online Version, or IELTS Progress Check will not be accepted.
Applicants who have graduated from a university located in an English-speaking country (including those who are expected to graduate by March 31, 2026) may, upon review, be exempt from submitting TOEFL iBT or IELTS score reports. Those wishing to request this review must contact the Graduate School
Office by email by October 15, 2025, to inquire about the procedure. The email must include a copy of the university transcript that will be submitted with the application, as well as a completed Application Form (B), which details the applicant's academic history and other relevant information. - Admission guidelines and application forms for the academic year 2025 have been uploaded. - The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is comprised of two individual graduate courses: the graduate course in International Relations and the graduate course in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.
